Lindsay Lohan will soon be hanging around a bunch of stiffs.
The 21-year-old actress has been ordered to take part in a special program at the Los Angeles County morgue as part of her punishment for drunken driving.
“She will not touch any bodies,” said morgue spokesman Ed Winter. But “she’ll see firsthand what’s going on.”
That should be a life-changing experience for the “Mean Girls” star and the other drunkards participating in the county’s Hospital and Morgue program.
The program is designed to show offenders what could happen to them and others if they continue to drink and drive.
“It could be homicides, street racing, drunk driving,” Winter said. “We take the entire class where autopsies are going on and in the crypts where [the corpses] are photographed and the deceased are processed - fingerprinted, undressed, prepared for autopsy.”
Lohan, who in recent years has become infamous for her hard-partying ways, will spend two four-hour days at a morgue. She also will work for two days in an ER, where once again she will see upclose the damage and pain caused by drunken driving.
She also must spend two months in rehab and complete several hours of community service to fulfill the terms of her plea bargain.
A wild child from Long Island, Lohan was arrested twice last year on DUI charges. She pleaded guilty in August to misdemeanor drunken driving and cocaine charges.
She has served a grand total of 84 minutes in jail as part of the plea deal.

Reuters (via ABCNews.com) report that Brit has topped the annual Yahoo list for six of the past seven years, being knocked out of the top spot only once, in 2004, by Paris Hilton. Paris ended up third this year.
Coming in at #2 was the World Wrestling Entertainment, which was second last year as well.
Lindsay came in sixth, rising from #10 last year.

After being caught attempting to take off with a shopping cart, Lindsay Lohan can add theft to her personal credits of “attention whore and recovering coke addict.” Lohan was apparently unable to or too lazy to act like a regular customer in carrying her groceries a short walk up the road. The actress allegedly tried to wheel one of Bristol Farms’ shopping carts all the way home.
According to an article in Star Magazine: “After picking up groceries at Bristol Farms market in Los Angeles on December 15th. Lindsay, who lives right up the street, tried to wheel the cart home with her!”
An eyewitness shared: “Lindsay was trying to push the cart past the exit, but the wheels locked up due to the sensors.”
The Mean Girls actress is in talks with producers of the hit US TV show to play a fallen beauty queen who ends up working as an assistant manager of a fast food restaurant.She will be rescued by the show’s main character Betty Suarez, who tries to get her a job at Mode magazine, where she is an editorial assistant.
A source said: “Betty tries to help Lindsay’s character by getting her a job at Mode, the fashion magazine where she works on the show.”
Lindsay will not be the first celebrity to make a guest appearance on the show.
Victoria Beckham stars as herself in an upcoming episode, while Lucy Lui appeared in two shows in the first series.
Lindsay recently vowed to stay away from Hollywood to avoid temptation and stay sober.
The 21-year-old actress, who was released from Utah’s Cirque Lodge treatment centre last month after a two-month stay, said: “I’m staying in Utah until it’s time to shoot Dare to Love Me, and then I plan on returning to Utah so I can stay focused and avoid other distractions.
“Temptation is always there, but now I’ll avoid it the right way.”
Lindsay Lohan has reportedly backed out of hosting a party in Las Vegas in order to focus on sobriety.Until last week, the 21-year-old was scheduled to attend a New Year’s Eve party at Vegas nightclub LAX.However, on Oct 29, the actress’ rep said, “Lindsay will no longer be hosting New Year’s Eve in Las Vegas.”
Last week, a source revealed that Lindsay didn’t necessarily want to host but was contractually compelled due to the 21st birthday plans at LAX sister-club Pure that she had to cancel in July in order to go to rehab.
Meanwhile, Lohan’s rep said that the actress, who has been out of rehab at Utah’s Cirque Lodge for less than a month, “continues to focus on her work and sobriety.”
However, a source revealed that the Vegas party plans have not been scrapped forever.
According to the source, the deal between Lohan and Pure remains in place, and “they will both wait for a day” when she can host an event for the company, perhaps even “another year from now.”
